  • UMatter: An Upstander Intervention Program

    UMatter is an upstander intervention program to support a culture that cares about and helps each other in our community. Participants will discuss ways to safely identify and help a peer in need related to interpersonal violence and substance use, work through realistic and interactive scenarios, and raise awareness about support resources available in the UGA community. Choose to care and contribute to positive experiences, culture, and future of the UGA community. Free shirts available for participants!

  • BEAR! Encountering the Non-Cuddly Kind (Clinic)

    Event Location: Lake Herrick Conference Room

    Come join UGA Outdoor Recreation and learn all about managing bear interactions in the backcountry. We will cover what to do if you see a bear while hiking, techniques to keep your food safe from bears, and the importance of managing human and black bear interaction. Additionally, we will be practicing proper bear bag hanging techniques in the area surrounding Lake Herrick.

    This clinic is FULL! However, we offer many other clinics such as:

    Intro to Fly Fishing

    Knot Tying

    Ultralight Backpacking

  • Pelvic Pain Support Group

    Event Location: UHC Conf Room E

    An open support group for women who experience concerns related to pelvic pain. This group will be co-facilitated by a psychologist, Dr. Pucci, and physical therapist, Dr. Patel in order to attend to and support the relationship between mind and body more fully. Group will provide a safe, confidential space for members to discuss concerns related to pelvic pain and opportunities to connect with and support peers who share similar experiences. Co-facilitators will also offer education to increase understanding and skill-building for symptom management. This group is open to any women who have been diagnosed with vaginismus, vulvodynia, or related disorders. Group meets 1st and 3rd Thursday from 3:00 -4:00pm Fall semester

  • Zip Line and High Ropes Adventure

    Event Location: Oconee Forest Park Challenge Course

    Join us for a high adventure afternoon of zip-lining and maneuvering obstacles on the outdoor high adventure course in the Oconee Forest Park (behind the IM fields). This is the perfect opportunity to try a high ropes course for the first time or, if you have experience, introduce your friends to the fun.

  • Shaking Rock Bouldering and Climbing Ethics

    8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

    Event Location: Departs from Ramsey Student Center

    Located about 25 minutes outside of Athens, Shaking Rock is a massive boulder with problems ranging from sloping traverses to hanging cliff features. All experience levels are welcome on this day trip. In addition to bouldering, participants will learn more about how the principles of Leave No Trace apply to bouldering and climbing ethics.
