Join the UGA Outdoor Recreation Center this Winter for a trip to Beech Mountain Ski Resort in North Carolina! Whether you are a beginner or a pro, Beech Mountain has a variety of difficulty levels ranging from the bunny hill to black diamonds. This trip is the perfect way to pack some excitement and adventure into your winter season! Your registration fee includes transportation, lodging, breakfasts, lunches, lift ticket, and expert instruction for beginner and intermediate skiers and snowboarders. Your ski/snowboard rentals are not included in the registration fee, but we will take you to a pro shop before hitting the slopes so you can purchase rentals.
We will be staying in a traditional hostel with bunk-style accommodations and hall-style bathrooms, so be prepared to share your space with others. Register early to save your spot!

“What are you doing in my swamp???” Join the ORC and channel your inner Shrek as we travel to the swampy floodplains of Congaree National Park in South Carolina! On this trip, we will paddle down the Cedar Creek Canoe trail amongst a canopy of cypress trees and hopefully spot some river creatures, such as toads, deer, and maybe even an otter or alligator. After a night of camping underneath the stars, we will explore the floodplains by foot as we hike 2 miles along the Boardwalk Trail.
PLEASE NOTE:
Your trip leaders will cover suggested packing items in a pre-trip email and during your pre-trip meeting. Transportation, fees, group gear (tents, stoves, water jugs, etc.), and all food except when we are traveling in the van will be provided. You will be responsible for providing personal clothing, toiletries, bowl/eating utensil, personal snacks, sleeping bag, and sleeping pad. If you do not have your own sleeping bag, sleeping pad, or backpack, you may rent these items from the ORC.

Join the ORC as we embark on this unforgettable experience! Crystal River in Florida is a favorite habitat for manatees, and what better way to spend your weekend than to snorkel among them! We will be camping at a state park in Flordia on Friday and Saturday night. During the day we will kayak near the headsprings and then swim into the area where we will snorkel with the manatees. Wetsuit, masks, and snorkel are provided.
No prior experience is required, but the ability to swim and a calm comfort in the water are recommended.
